Vice Admiral Krause, Chief of the German Navy Visits Kochi

KOCHI. Vice Admiral Andreas Krause, Chief of the German Navy, accompanied by Mrs Barbara Krause and a delegation from the German Navy, visited the Southern Naval Command from October 16 – 17, 2018.

During the visit to Kochi, the Chief of German Navy had discussions on October 17, 2018 with Vice Admiral AK Chawla, AVSM, NM, VSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command on issues of mutual interest to both navies. He was also given a presentation on the Southern Naval Command, with special focus on the training role of the Command and activities conducted by various training units.

The German Naval Chief was also shown around certain training facilities at Kochi; namely Water Survival Training Facility, Flight and Tactical Simulator, Navigation Direction School and Anti- Submarine Warfare School.

Prior to this visit, the Chief of the German Navy visited Indian Naval Academy, where he interacted with Vice Admiral RB Pandit, AVSM, Commandant INA and was also shown the various training facilities for cadets.

During the visit, Mrs Barbara Krause interacted with Mrs Sapana Chawla, as the President Navy Wives Welfare Association (NWWA), Southern Region (SR) at Kochi and Mrs. Priyamwada Pandit, President NWWA (Ezhimala) at INA respectively to get acquainted with the welfare activities being undertaken by NWWA to benefit the naval community at both places

The delegation departed to New Delhi on October 17, 2018.
