Satellite internet services provider, Isotropic Networks, is investing in high performance ViaLite RF over fiber (RFoF) satcom links for their location in Alaska.

The L-Band High Throughput Satellite (HTS) links are suitable for cold climates down to -20 ºC through to high temperatures up to 60 ºC. Operating bidirectionally, the links connect antennas and control rooms.

For this application, rack chassis cards were the chosen form factor, housed in a ViaLite 3U rack chassis (other formats include OEM modules). The setup was further upgraded with the addition of ViaLite’s Horizons SNMP card and software, which allows for remote network monitoring and control of the system.

This latest collaboration between Isotropic and ViaLite is a continuation of a multiple year relationship, in support of satellite connectivity.
