New Delhi. American aerospace giant Lockheed Martin congratulated the Indian defense establishment for carrying out a successful “arrest landing” of India’s indigenously developed Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, saying that the company is looking forward to support the Indian Navy’s LCA programme.

Vice president of Strategy and Business Development at Lockheed Martin, Vivek Lall described the landing as a “significant engineering feat” that should be celebrated.

“Lockheed Martin is fully committed to India and we look forward to supporting the LCA Navy programme if desired given our breadth and depth of expertise in that area,” he said.

“The F-21 would be a game-changing US and India win. An F-21 partnership with Lockheed Martin integrates Indian industry into the world’s largest and most advanced fighter aircraft ecosystem,” Lall said.

He observed that India’s presence into this robust fighter ecosystem via an F-21 selection would result in the country being at the “epicentre of a US$ 165 billion market,” with possibilities to expand its footprint in developing indigenous capabilities and global supplier relationships.
