BEML Marks 55th Foundation Day

Bangalore. BEML Limited, a Mini Ratna Category-I Company under the Ministry of Defence celebrated its 55th Foundation Day on May 11 across all its offices and complexes.

BEML Ltd came into existence in 1964 as a PSU at Bangalore for manufacturing Railway products and Mining equipments. Subsequently, KGF, Mysore & Palakkad Complexes and a subsidiary company Vigyan Industries Limited (VIL) were established to manufacture Mining & Construction equipments, Defence & Aerospace products.

Deepak Kumar Hota, Chairman & Managing Director, BEML while addressing the employees at the function held at Bangalore informed them of a healthy order book position in the current financial year, and exhorted the employees to raise their level of productivity to reach greater heights.

“We look to the future with confidence, driven by an inspiring vision, values of trusteeship and vitality powered by a dedicated world class team of human resources. Our aim is to march towards becoming a Navratna Company in the near future.”

Hota also stressed the need to adopt ‘smart working’, increasing the use of Artificial Intelligence, 3D Printing and company branding.

B.R. Viswanatha, Director (Mining & Construction), RH Muralidhara, Director (Defence), Suresh S Vastrad, Director (Rail & Metro) also addressed the gathering which consisted of senior officials, employees, executives and union representatives.

The celebrations began with the hoisting of BEML Flag by senior most lady employee at its headquarters at BEML Soudha. Meritorious awards were given to employees for their exceptional contribution in service. Cultural programmes were also organised at respective complexes.
